Monthly Travel Guide
Thailand in October
October sees the tail end of the southwest monsoon on the Andaman coast and the height of the northeast monsoon on the Gulf coast. Conditions improve for Phuket and Krabi from mid-October onward, while Koh Samui and Koh Phangan brace for their wettest period. The Vegetarian Festival and the spectacular Boat Float ceremony of Ok Phansa make October culturally rich. It is a transition month — choose your destination carefully.
