When we get something wrong or content becomes outdated, we say so here — publicly and transparently.
Our corrections commitment
Accurate information about Thailand matters — wrong visa advice can strand people, outdated medical information can be dangerous, and incorrect pricing misleads travellers. We take our responsibility to accuracy seriously.
When we confirm an error, we correct it on the relevant page within 24 hours and log it here. When information changes (new rules, updated prices, closed venues), we update the page and note significant changes below. If you spot something inaccurate, please let us know.

Recent Corrections Log
Updated income threshold for the Digital Nomad/Remote Worker category to reflect the current ฿65,000/month (approximately $1,800 USD) minimum, clarified documentation requirements for employment contracts, and added note on the 2026 processing time improvement to 4–6 weeks.
Updated rent ranges for condominiums and serviced apartments to reflect 2026 market rates. Nimman area studio rents have increased approximately 12% year-on-year. Utility cost ranges updated to reflect electricity tariff adjustments.
Corrected an error stating that tourist visas could be extended twice — the correct information is that a standard tourist visa can be extended once (30 days) at an immigration office. The previous text was based on outdated rules. We apologise for the error.
Updated bus journey times and carrier information. Added AirAsia increased frequency information for the Bangkok–Phuket route. Removed reference to a direct overnight train route, which does not exist — clarified that the closest rail option goes to Surat Thani with onward transport.
Updated ferry schedules and operator information. Seatran Discovery no longer operates the Surat Thani–Koh Tao–Koh Phangan route; updated with current operators. Also updated dive course price ranges to reflect current market rates.
Major update to reflect the full-year implications of the 2024 Revenue Department ruling on foreign income taxation. Added section on LTR Visa tax exemptions, dual taxation agreement country list (61 countries), and practical steps for registering for a Thai Tax Identification Number.
Corrected the listed address for Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital. Previous listing contained an outdated address. Current address and BTS access information updated.
Updated to reflect removal of the Thailand Pass registration system (discontinued in 2022 but still incorrectly referenced in some sections). Full current entry requirements reflect standard Thai immigration rules without any COVID-era documentation.
Added clarification that a regular car driving licence from your home country is NOT sufficient to legally ride a motorcycle or scooter in Thailand — a specific motorcycle endorsement or licence category A is required. The previous phrasing was ambiguous and could have been misread as permitting scooter riding with a car licence.
Updated ferry schedules for the Surat Thani–Koh Samui route. Added information on Bangkok Airways' monopoly on direct flights and comparison of alternatives via Surat Thani. Updated restaurant section to remove three venues that have closed.
