Red Line Train Details
The SRT Red Line commuter service has a station at Don Mueang that connects to the terminal via a covered walkway (follow the signs from the arrivals hall, around 5 minutes on foot). Trains run to Krung Thep Aphiwat (Bang Sue Grand Station) and Rangsit to the north, with services roughly every 30 minutes, 6am to midnight.
At Bang Sue Grand Station, transfer to the MRT Blue Line south to Chatuchak, Phahon Yothin, or further into the city. To reach Sukhumvit, take the MRT to Asok station (interchange with BTS). Don Mueang arrivals can be disorienting — it is a more basic airport than Suvarnabhumi. Grab pickup is from the designated area on Level 1.
If you have a connection between Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi airports, there is a free shuttle bus for eligible connecting passengers. Otherwise, budget at least 90 minutes for the transfer and 2–3 hours to be safe, as Bangkok traffic is unpredictable.
