Karon Viewpoint on the winding road between Kata Beach and Nai Harn is arguably the most visually satisfying viewpoint on the island — three bays (Kata Noi, Kata, and Karon) are visible simultaneously in a single panorama, with the Andaman Sea beyond and forested hills framing the view. Best at sunset or sunrise; the drive up is a pleasant alternative to the busy beach strip road.
Big Buddha(officially Phra Phuttha Ming Mongkol Akenakkiri) sits atop Nakkerd Hill at 382m — one of Phuket's highest accessible points. The 45-metre white marble-clad Buddha image is visible from across the island. The hilltop platform around the statue gives 360-degree views: Chalong Bay and the coast to the east, Kata and Karon beaches to the west, and the interior of the island stretching north.
