Booking Tips for Phuket
- 1
Phuket is large — pick your base beach carefully. Moving between beaches requires taxis (expensive) or a hired scooter. There is no public transport connecting the beaches.
- 2
Jet ski scams are common on Patong and Kata beaches. Avoid renting jet skis entirely, or photograph the vehicle thoroughly before boarding and only use operators with an official booth.
- 3
High season (November–April) sees significant price increases. Shoulder season (May–October) offers 30–50% discounts and quieter beaches despite occasional rain.
