Tips & Things to Know

  • 1

Koh Phi Phi Don has no cars or motorbikes — everything is on foot. Pack light and use a daypack.

  • 2

The original beach of 'The Beach' film (Maya Bay on Koh Phi Phi Ley) requires a separate speed boat trip from Phi Phi Don (฿600–1,000) or is included in island tour packages.

  • 3

High season ferries can be crowded — book ahead through Lomprayah or your hotel. Low season (May–October) services are reduced and weather can be rough.
