Koh Samui Airport
Koh Samui, Thailand
Koh Samui Airport is one of Thailand's most unique — a privately owned open-air airport operated by Bangkok Airways with a distinctive tropical design. It's conveniently located in the northeast of the island and is the only commercial airport on Koh Samui.
Getting to the City
| Method | Duration | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Taxi (official airport taxi) | 15–40 minutes depending on destination | 300–600 THB (fixed rates by zone) |
| Hotel Transfer | 20–50 minutes | Free to 500 THB |
| Grab | 15–45 minutes | 200–450 THB |
| Minivan Shared Transfer | 25–60 minutes | 150–200 THB per person |
Taxi (official airport taxi)
All taxis at Samui airport operate on fixed-zone pricing — pick up your voucher at the official counter inside arrivals. Zones cover all major beach areas.
Hotel Transfer
Most Koh Samui resorts offer airport transfers — often complimentary for longer stays. Book when making your reservation.
Grab
Grab works on Koh Samui but coverage is spottier than Bangkok. Confirmed pick-up may require a short wait.
Minivan Shared Transfer
Shared minivans drop multiple passengers at hotels around the island — cheaper but considerably slower due to multiple stops.
Airport Facilities

- Bangkok Airways Blue Ribbon Club lounge (complimentary for business class passengers and eligible frequent flyers)
