About Sa Kaeo Province
Sa Kaeo is Thailand's easternmost central-region province, sharing a long border with Cambodia and home to the busy Aranyaprathet–Poipet land crossing. Created in 1993 from the eastern districts of Prachin Buri, it combines flat farmland with rugged hills along the border, two national parks, and the sprawling Rong Kluea border market. Most foreign visitors pass through en route to Siem Reap, but the province itself rewards travellers interested in wildlife, old Khmer ruins, and quiet countryside.
