About Prachuap Khiri Khan Province
Prachuap Khiri Khan is a long, narrow coastal province that forms the southern extension of the Gulf of Thailand's western shore. Hua Hin sits in the northern part of the province and is covered separately, but the provincial capital itself — simply called Prachuap — is a charming seaside town that remains almost entirely free of foreign tourists despite being one of Thailand's most pleasant provincial cities. The famous monkey-covered Khao Chong Krachok hill, excellent seafood restaurants on a beachfront promenade, an easy-riding local atmosphere, and proximity to the narrow isthmus where Thailand is barely 20 km wide make it a quiet highlight for those who venture beyond Hua Hin.
