About Prachin Buri Province
Prachin Buri sits on the eastern edge of the central plains, about 130 km from Bangkok, where the land begins to rise toward Khao Yai and the Sankamphaeng Range. The province is famous for traditional Thai herbal medicine — Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital here pioneered the modern revival of herbal pharmacy — and for the Sa Morakot 'Emerald Pool', a turquoise spring at an ancient Dvaravati-era site. It's also the main eastern gateway into Khao Yai National Park.
