About Phetchabun Province
Phetchabun straddles the upper central plains and the lower northern highlands, giving it a cool-season climate that draws Thai weekenders to its mountain resorts. Khao Kho's ridgelines are dotted with viewpoints, flower farms, and boutique stays, while Nam Nao National Park protects one of the country's largest pine-and-evergreen forests. The province grabbed international attention in 2023 when Si Thep Historical Park, an ancient Dvaravati-era city, was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Strawberry, macadamia, and sweet-tamarind farms supply local markets, and Phu Tub Berk's chilly peak attracts campers chasing morning mist and cabbage-terrace views.
