About Pathum Thani Province
Pathum Thani ('Lotus City') is a riverine province immediately north of Nonthaburi and Bangkok, and is primarily known as home to Thailand's science and technology corridor, major university campuses, and some of the country's most productive lotus flower cultivation. For travellers, the main draw is the Bang Sai Arts and Crafts Centre — a royal-initiative centre spread over 100 hectares where traditional Thai crafts from across the country are taught and practised, and where over 1,000 artisans produce silk weaving, wood carving, ceramics, and basketry. The province is also home to Thammasat University's Rangsit campus and the vast Future Park Rangsit shopping complex.
