About Ang Thong Province
Ang Thong is one of Thailand's smallest and flattest provinces — a fertile agricultural delta between the Chao Phraya and Noi rivers, known for rice farming, fruit orchards, and traditional crafts. The province is completely off the foreign tourist map but has an important cultural tradition: it is one of the most significant centres for traditional Thai drum-making, and the drums produced here are used in temples and ceremonies across the country. The Ang Thong National Marine Park (in the Gulf of Thailand, off the coast of Surat Thani) shares the same name but is geographically unrelated to this landlocked central province.
