Pad Thai Jay
ผัดไทยเจ
Medium-Mild

Pad Thai Jay is the fully vegan version of Thailand's iconic stir-fried noodle dish — made without eggs, fish sauce, or shrimp, substituting tofu and soy sauce while keeping the essential tamarind-based sauce.
Cultural Origin
Pad Thai Jay is the strict-vegetarian version of pad thai prepared for the annual Phuket Vegetarian Festival (Thetsakan Kin Jay) and other Buddhist 'jay' periods, observed primarily by the Thai-Chinese community. It omits all animal products and 'rajasic' alliums like garlic, onion, and chives, using tofu, pickled radish, peanuts, and tamarind-sugar-soy sauce instead.
