Best Hotels in Pattaya

Pattaya has more accommodation than almost anywhere in Thailand outside Bangkok — hundreds of hotels at every price point, concentrated along Pattaya Beach, Jomtien Beach, and the Pratamnak Hill area. The city's reputation for adult nightlife overshadows its family resorts and golf courses. Jomtien and Pratamnak are the most family-friendly areas; North Pattaya is quieter for beach holidays.

Where to Stay in Pattaya

Pattaya Beach Road (Central)

฿400–8,000/night

Best for: Convenience, budget, nightlife

The main drag along Pattaya Bay. Densely packed with hotels, bars, restaurants, and massage shops. Walking Street is the epicentre of nightlife at the south end. Noisy but highly convenient.

Jomtien Beach

฿600–10,000/night

Best for: Families, longer stays, quieter beach

3km south of Pattaya. Longer, less crowded beach with more relaxed atmosphere. Popular with long-stay expats and families. Water sports facilities. Quieter nightlife than central Pattaya.

Pratamnak Hill

฿1,500–15,000/night

Best for: Boutique hotels, quieter beach access

The hill between Pattaya and Jomtien has some of Pattaya's best boutique and luxury hotels. Pratamnak Beach is small but cleaner than Pattaya Beach. 10 minutes by baht bus to both areas.

North Pattaya / Naklua

฿2,000–20,000/night

Best for: Families, upscale resorts, quieter surroundings

The northern end of the bay is significantly quieter than central Pattaya. Dusit Thani and other luxury resorts are here. Naklua area is more local and less touristy.

Booking Tips for Pattaya

  • 1

Avoid staying directly on Walking Street or the south end of Beach Road if noise is a concern — these areas are extremely loud until 4–5am.

  • 2

Pattaya Beach is not Thailand's cleanest. If swimming is a priority, Jomtien is somewhat better or take a day trip to the offshore islands (Koh Larn).

  • 3

Baht buses (songthaews) run fixed routes for ฿10–20 per person and are the local transport system — flag one down and pay on exit.
