Koh Phi Phi Don & Leh
The most famous islands near Krabi — Phi Phi Don has accommodation and nightlife while Phi Phi Leh is uninhabited and home to the iconic Maya Bay.
Maya Bay reopened after ecological restoration. Visit early morning or on a private boat to avoid the worst crowds. Day trips depart from Ao Nang (90 minutes by speedboat).
Koh Lanta
A large island 90 minutes south of Krabi town — long beaches, mangroves, a national park, and a more laid-back, long-stay atmosphere than Phi Phi.
Best accessed by ferry from Krabi Town. Two-night minimum to appreciate it properly.
Koh Hong (Krabi)
A group of uninhabited islands with a stunning hidden lagoon accessible only at high tide by sea kayak — one of the most memorable experiences near Krabi.
Join a morning kayaking tour from Ao Nang. The lagoon entrance is only possible at higher tides — check before booking.
Koh Poda
A small island 15 minutes by longtail from Ao Nang with excellent snorkelling, a curved white sand beach, and a sandspit that appears at low tide.
Part of the famous '4 Islands Tour.' Go early or join a private longtail to beat the large tour boats.
Bamboo Island
A tiny, flat island near Phi Phi with shallow turquoise water and one of the best beaches in the region for swimming.
Often included in Phi Phi day tours. Best visited on a small-group or private boat for the most peaceful experience.
Koh Klang
A little-visited island in Krabi's estuary accessible by a 5-minute boat from Krabi Town — traditional Muslim fishing villages, rice paddies, and zero tourist development.
Hire a bicycle on arrival (available from local families). A peaceful half-day escape from the tourist circuit.
