Chaweng Walking Street
The main nightlife drag — a busy pedestrianised street of bars, clubs, restaurants, and nightly fire shows. Bangla Road-lite in feel.
Busiest between 9 pm and 2 am. The sois running off the main strip have cheaper and more local-feeling bars.
Green Mango Club
Chaweng's most established club — a large open-air venue with multiple rooms, regular DJs, and the island's biggest party crowd.
Primarily draws a Thai and expat crowd on weekdays; more touristy at weekends. Gets going after midnight.
Ark Bar Beach Club
A beachfront bar and club directly on Chaweng beach — daily pool parties, fire shows at 8 pm, and a party atmosphere from late afternoon.
The fire shows at sunset are free and worth watching even if you don't stay. Good cocktail happy hour from 5–7 pm.
Lamai Walking Street
A smaller, less intense version of Chaweng's strip with bars, massage shops, and restaurants. Better for a laid-back evening out.
Good for families earlier in the evening before it gets busier later at night.
Bophut Fisherman's Village Friday Market
Not exactly nightlife but one of Samui's best evening events — a lively walking street market with food, craft, and live music on Friday nights.
Starts at 5 pm and winds down around 10–11 pm. Much more relaxed than Chaweng and a genuine cultural experience.
Coco Blues Bar & Restaurant
A long-running live music venue in Chaweng with blues and rock performances most nights — a welcome alternative to the club scene.
Good food and cocktails alongside the music. Attracts a more mature expat crowd than the main strip.
