December is one of the best months to visit Bangkok — the cool season delivers comfortable temperatures, low humidity, clear skies, and the city's main festival calendar including New Year's Eve on the Chao Phraya. Crowds are high but manageable outside of the Christmas–New Year week.

Bangkok's coolest and most pleasant month. Temperatures average 22–32°C with low humidity. Evenings can feel refreshing, even cool in the first half of December. Almost no rain. Perfect conditions for sightseeing, street food eating, and temple visits.

Crowds & Prices

High season. Grand Palace and major attractions see their busiest visitor numbers. Chatuchak Weekend Market is extremely crowded. Accommodation rates are elevated, particularly over Christmas and New Year. Book ahead.
