Where to Stay in Ao Nang
Ao Nang Beach Road
฿800–8,000/nightBest for: Convenience, restaurants, tour operators
The main drag running parallel to the beach. Dense with hotels at every price point, beachfront restaurants, and boat ticket offices. Noisy at night but maximally convenient for beach activities.
Hat Noppharat Thara

A 15-minute walk north of the main beach strip. Quieter, with a long sandy beach and views of the National Park islands. The better mid-range and boutique hotels cluster here.

Hillside and inland properties a short taxi or motorbike ride from the beach. Often have stunning karst views and private pools at better rates than beachfront equivalents.

Booking Tips for Ao Nang
- 1
Book longtail boat transfers to Railay Beach from the main Ao Nang pier — the 15-minute crossing costs around ฿100 per person each way and is one of Thailand's most scenic boat rides.
- 2
Ao Nang's main beach is not the cleanest or most scenic. Head to Hat Noppharat Thara (north) or take a boat to the offshore islands for the best swimming.
- 3
The high season (November–April) sees Ao Nang very busy. Book accommodation 2–4 months ahead for Christmas and New Year.
