Nightlife in Koh Chang — Bars, Clubs & Night Markets

White Sand Beach has the island's main nightlife — beach bars, fire shows, a few clubs, and the long-standing Sabay Bar. Lonely Beach has the bohemian backpacker scene with bonfires and reggae. Overall, the vibe is mellow beach bar rather than intense club. Nothing runs past 2 AM. Koh Chang scores 6/10 for nightlife — a solid evening scene with enough variety to keep most visitors entertained.

Best Areas for Nightlife

The main nightlife in Koh Chang concentrates in White Sand Beach and Lonely Beach. These areas have the highest density of bars, live music venues, and restaurants with late-night hours. Walking distance between venues is important for nightlife areas — avoid relying on transport between scattered nightlife spots.

Night Markets and Evening Entertainment

Beyond bars and clubs, Koh Chang offers excellent evening entertainment through night markets, live music venues, and cultural shows. Night markets typically run 5 PM–11 PM and combine shopping, street food, and atmosphere. Thai boxing matches are a memorable evening activity. Night food tours offer a guided introduction to the after-dark dining scene.

Safety and Tips

Standard nightlife safety: stick to established venues, watch your drinks, use Grab/Bolt for late-night transport, and avoid confrontations. Drink prices vary enormously — local beer at a Thai restaurant is 60–90 THB while cocktails at a tourist bar can run 250–450 THB. Happy hours (typically 4–7 PM) offer the best value.
